Healthy eating (clean-eating) recipe


Here is a great alternative to a beef burger:

TURKEY/CHICKEN BURGER WITH A GUACAMOLE SPREAD

Depending on your choice, either ground turkey or ground chicken can be used.  Both are yummy, but the turkey is the leanest choice.

Burgers:

2 lb lean ground chicken or turkey
4tsp ground cinnamon
1tsp garlic powder
1tsp ground black pepper

Tip: Ground chicken holds together better, or add 1 whole egg to turkey mixture.

4-6 Ezekial or whole grain buns

Prep:

1. Preheat BBQ to med/high heat
2. Add turkey/chicken, cinnamon, garlic pwdr and pepper to large bowl.
3. Mix together
4.Divide the mix into 4-6 parts and shape
5. Grill patties for 7-9 minutes on each side or until cooked through.

Serve on lighly toasted bun with 1 tbsp of Guacamole Spread

GUACAMOLE SPREAD

Ingredients:

2 avocados
1 tsp fresh ground black pepper
2 jalapenos, finely chopped
1/2 white onion, finely chopped
1 cup cilantro fresh, finely chopped
juice of one lime

Preparation:

1. Cut avocados in half. Remove pits and scoop flesh into med bowl.
2. Add garlic pwder, black pepper, jalapenos, white onion, cilantro and lime juice to the bowl.
3. Mix all ingredients.
4. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.

Tip:  I make the guacamole first and let it refrigerate while I prepare and grill the bugers.

Enjoy with your usual cheese and condiments!!
